Homecoming Retreat

Dali, China • April 18–24, 2027

Retreat Overview.

Homecoming's seven-day retreat is an invitation to step away from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with yourself through immersive cultural experiences, meaningful community, and intentional reflection.

As we explore the history, traditions, landscapes, and people of Yunnan, you'll discover that this journey isn't just about experiencing a new place—it's about experiencing yourself in a new way.

Together with a small group of like-minded explorers, you'll create the space to reconnect, gain fresh perspective, and return home with greater clarity about the life you're creating.

Duration: 7 days 6 nights

Group size: 10 - 15 travelers

Cost: Starting at $3,999 per person

Why This Journey?

Life has a way of keeping us moving.

There is always another responsibility, another decision, another distraction asking for our attention.

Over time, it becomes easy to lose sight of what matters most—not because we don't care, but because our lives become shaped by routines, expectations, and the momentum of everyday tasks. We begin reacting to what's in front of us instead of creating the life we truly want.

We created this retreat because we believe it's easier to reconnect with ourselves when we intentionally step outside of our everyday environment. A change in environment interrupts familiar patterns, giving us the perspective to see ourselves, our lives, and what's possible with fresh eyes. Through immersive cultural experiences, meaningful conversations, and the shared journey of a small group, we create the space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and explore what you want to create next.

Where Culture Becomes the Classroom

Dali isn't simply where our retreat takes place.

It's one of our greatest teachers.

For centuries, the people of Dali have lived in close relationship with nature, community, and traditions that continue to shape everyday life. Here, we don't rush from one attraction to the next. Instead, we slow down and experience this place through the stories, rituals, craftsmanship, and perspectives of the people who call it home.

Throughout the retreat, the culture becomes more than something we observe.

It becomes something we learn from.

The mountains invite us to reflect on resilience.

Tea teaches presence.

Traditional craftsmanship reminds us of patience and intention.

The people we meet offer new perspectives on what it means to live a meaningful life.

Because we believe some of life's greatest lessons aren't taught in a classroom.

They're experienced through the places we immerse ourselves in and the people we meet along the way.

The Experience

Day 1: Arrival and Grounding

Day 1: Arrival and Grounding

Day 1: Arrival and Grounding

Arrive fully—in the place, in the community, and within yourself.

Your journey begins with a traditional Bai tea ceremony, intentional reflection, and a welcoming circle that invites you to slow down after the pace of everyday life. Together, we'll set intentions for the week ahead and begin building the trust and connection that will carry us through the journey.

Day 2: Discover

Day 1: Arrival and Grounding

Day 1: Arrival and Grounding

See yourself—and the world—with fresh eyes.

Through the stories, traditions, and craftsmanship of Dali, you'll begin to experience culture as more than something to observe. As you immerse yourself in village life, meaningful conversations, and moments of quiet reflection, you'll discover new perspectives on yourself and the life you're creating.

Day 3: Release

Day 1: Arrival and Grounding

Day 3: Release

Let go of what no longer serves you.

The ancient Three Pagodas, the vibrant San Yue Jie Festival, and an evening lantern ceremony become invitations to release old stories, limiting beliefs, and expectations that no longer fit. This is the day we create space for what wants to emerge next. This mirrors the intention you've already designed into the day: surrender, spaciousness, and renewal through place, ritual, and reflection.

Day 4: Invent

Day 6: Integration

Day 3: Release

Imagine the life you're ready to create.

Inspired by the wisdom of nature and the creativity of Bai traditions, you'll explore what your next chapter could look like. Through hands-on cultural experiences, journaling, and guided reflection, you'll begin turning possibility into intention.

Day 5: Charge

Day 6: Integration

Day 6: Integration

Build the momentum to carry it forward.

Transformation isn't just about insight, it's about action. Together, we'll reconnect with what matters most, identify the habits and choices that support your vision, and begin creating a path that feels aligned with the life you want to build.

Day 6: Integration

Day 6: Integration

Day 6: Integration

This is where inspiration becomes something you can truly live.

Growth doesn't happen through new experiences alone, it happens when we take the time to integrate them. Together, we'll reflect on the journey we've shared, celebrate one another's growth, and create practical ways to carry these insights into everyday life.

Day 7: Homecoming & Departure

Day 7: Homecoming & Departure

Day 7: Homecoming & Departure

Return home—not as someone new, but more fully yourself.

As we gather for one final reflection, we'll honor the journey we've taken together and celebrate the friendships, perspectives, and memories we've created. You'll return home carrying not just memories, but a new relationship with yourself—and the confidence to keep creating a life that feels like your own.

Preparing for Your Journey

Please reach us at hello@homecoming.world if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Homecoming is designed for people who feel called to step away from the pace of everyday life and intentionally reflect on what's next.

Many participants have explored personal growth in different ways—through coaching, therapy, journaling, retreats, or simply by asking themselves bigger questions about the life they want to create. You don't need to have everything figured out. What matters most is your curiosity, openness, and willingness to fully engage with the journey.

If that sounds like you, you'll likely feel right at home.

For many of our participants, this is their first time visiting China—and that's completely okay.

From the moment you join the retreat, we'll guide you every step of the way. Before departure, we'll host a pre-trip orientation where we'll walk through everything you need to know, including travel logistics, packing recommendations, local customs, payment methods, internet access, transportation, and what to expect once you arrive.

Throughout the retreat, you'll be accompanied by the Homecoming team and trusted local partners, so you won't be navigating the experience alone.

Our goal is simple: we want you to spend less time worrying about the logistics and more time being fully present for the journey.

Visa requirements depend on your nationality and can change over time. We'll provide up-to-date guidance and walk you through the process after you register, so you won't have to figure it out alone.

Most participants come on their own, and many don't know anyone before they arrive. One of the most meaningful parts of the Homecoming experience is sharing the journey with a small group of people who are equally curious, open, and ready to grow.

By the end of the week, what often surprises people most isn't just what they've learned—it's the genuine connections they've built along the way.

The retreat includes leisurely walking, light hiking, and time spent outdoors. Most activities are accessible for people with a moderate level of mobility. If you have questions about your specific needs, we'd be happy to discuss them during a discovery call.

International airfare, visa fee, travel insurance, personal expenses, alcoholic beverages, and any meals outside the itinerary are not included.
